When Fergus went to Achiltibuie

Cloudier.

In the morning we popped into Ceard to visit our friend Jan, who we met some years ago when she was the tutor on a hand made book course at Bridge House Art. Ceard is a really good shop and focuses on local artists work. Apothecary7 bought two pictures. Jan was very fond of Maeve the Deerhound and was very happy to meet Fergus.

We set out for Achiltibuie. On the way out of town we passed Bridge House Art and noticed owner and tutor Eleanor's car parked outside. We stopped and went in to find Eleanor preparing for the first summer school course. We had coffee/tea in the studio kitchen where the students eat and met this year's tutor assistant Nina who is from Boston USA. She had previously done one of the Portfolio courses (2 x 10 weeks). It was good to be able to let Eleanor know why Apothecary7 isn't going on a course this year.

Back on the road we went to Achiltibuie which involves a long stretch of single track road which passes Stac Pollaidh on the way across from the main road North to the coast. We had a wander about by the beach at Badentarbat where there are some old boats and 'the big balls' to take pictures. Nearby is the pier where the boat to Tanera Mor leaves from. We did a Bridge House Art summer school course there one holiday.

Lunch at the Piping School cafe. We didn't know it was dog friendly. Bonus.
Apothecary7 had a look round the art exhibition in Coigach Hall's gallery.

On the drive back across to the main road there are great views of Suilven.
