Emily

I've never grown modern grandiflora sweet peas before but when I discovered that there was one called "Emily" and that it was rose pink on a white ground I knew I had to try it - my daughter is called Emily Rose. I bought 12 seeds, all of which germinated but then the mice managed to consume 9 of them. The remaining three are just starting to flower. Modern grandifloras are similar to the old fashioned varieties - particularly with regard to scent - but with some characteristics of the Spencer types, that is, larger flowers, longer stems and more flowers per stem. This variety scores an impressive 5 out of 6 on the scent scale.
