A Summer Walk

A and I walked through the Bayfield Estate this morning.  This is a walk that we do at all times of the year, but I was struck today by how lush, green and abundant the countryside is at the moment.  Poppies, Bladder Campion, Red Campion, Cow Parsley and various different grasses, fully in seed lined the paths.  The tracks through the wooded areas were canopied in vibrant green leaves creating dappled pools of light on the inviting paths. The start of the walk was cool and dull but then, later the sun came out and it was deliciously warm.  A lovely walk with a coffee stop in the middle and a lunch stop at the end.  Most enjoyable.  It was a shame that B couldn't join us today but she was in awaiting the plumber to start her bathroom installation.
