What a Show!

Today M, B and I went to the inaugural Great Yarmouth Air Show.  It was organised well and we were treated to some magnificent flying displays.  We took our chairs along, and a picnic, and settled ourselves on the beach looking out to sea.  The weather was very changeable, fortunately it stayed dry but we had only a little sun.  There were some very threatening clouds at times, plus a lot of grey/white sky so it was sometimes difficult to get decent photos.

As I’m sure you’ll know the main blip is the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.  They stayed around to showcase the Lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfire for quite a while, which was a treat.  I’ve seen it before but just a single flypast.

One of the extras shows the wonderful Red Arrows, does anyone have a foolproof way to get both aircraft in focus when the planes are roaring by at such an incredible speed?

Then last extra is a most attractive plane called the Catalina, it was used for sea reconnaissance during the 2nd World War.  I really liked this plane, it was most elegant.

A fab day.
