Cloister

The cloister garth is a very special place (please ignore the weeds).
The blocked (then unblocked) window near the centre was part of the south wall of the original 12th century church, before the whole church was reconfigured to the east, in the 13th century.
Even later, the walkways of the cloister were remade in stone, as here, except the North side, where you can sill see where there was a lean-to wooden roof.
