Wild Wednesday 116: From a distance

The Gardner was in for a bit of a surprise today when he came to trim the Photinia: he discovered this wasps nest and had to run away as they exited en masse to attack him for endangering their home.  Fortunately he made a clean getaway and was not stung.

The nest is not terribly convenient for us humans, as the only access to the garden shed means passing within a couple of feet of the nest entrance.  The nest itself is a little too big for us to want to try to deal with ourselves so I suspect that we are going to have to get the pest controllers in to sort it out.  Until then the lawn is not going to be mowed ....

I'm not sure if Wild Wednesday is an ongoing thing nowadays, but counting from the last one that I did, I think that this would be Wild Wed 116, if it is still a thing :-)

Incredibish has been telling me about all his preparations for our upcoming trip and has made me feel more than a little unprepared.  So this evening is set aside for the making of lists and the checking of details, to try to ensure that Friday evening's packing goes without a hitch.  Did I mention that I'm quite excited?
