All Change (4)

Another 'record' Blip, the fourth charting the alterations to our living room and all tagged 'New Gas Fire'. The base coat of plaster is on; there was a little bit of damp showing and the builder noted that the rest of the room had been plastered with a 'Sika' render; basically, a waterproof 'tanking' to prevent any moisture coming through, and recommended we use that for this end of the room rather than plasterboard. It is now drying out and the plasterer is due to return on Friday to put on the skim coat. The electrician should come back at the weekend and the fire and surround are due to be installed on Monday which will be the end of the first phase after which we can get back to a little bit of normality, pending more cosmetic work later in the year.

It will be nice to be able to relax on a comfortable chair instead of watching TV on a small screen in the kitchen sitting on a picnic chair.
