Sir Walter Scott

We did the touristy thing today with a sail on Loch Katrine on the steamship Sir Walter Scott. Scott and Wordsworth did much to romanticise this part of the world and in the early part of the 20th C trips up Loch Lomond and down Loch Katrine on steamships were enormously popular. Nowadays this is the last steamship running in this part of the world ( oil fired ). It was built on the Clyde them after its sea trials dismantled and brought overland to Loch Katrine where it was rebuilt.
