Memory aid.

Another day at home - hence an early blip.

Been reading a paper about photography, memory and identity.

Barthes argued that there were four types of image: the person as they see themselves,
the person depicted as they want others to see them, the photographer depicts the person as he / she sees them, the photographer depicts the person for aesthetic / artistic purposes.

I guess you could put objects into that kind of categorization too -

We can either take photos to show our world the way we see it, the way others see it, the way we want others to see it or the way we think looks good.

So, if we need to remember an event, which of these categories do we use to take the photograph? I guess it all depends on what we want to remember.
