Orchid

Another beautiful day on Luing. We have been so fortunate to have lovely weather to explore the island. Walked today to the trig point at Aird Luing at the very south of the island where there are views to Jura. The ground was covered in these as well as other orchids, bog cotton and many different wild flowers. There were sheep, Luing cattle, ravens, geese and (I think) meadow pipits but no other people for the whole two hours we were walking. I'm not sure of this orchid - heath spotted? Help please from botanical blippers.

During the past two evenings an otter has swum past us very close to the shore as the tide has raced in. Neither of us has been quick enough with the camera but maybe third night lucky and I can add it as an extra. Meanwhile I'm going to try a couple of other extras but they will be slow to load.
Extra 1 The Grey Dog tidal race between Lunga and Scarba
Extra 2 Luing stores and post office
Extra 3 the visiting otter

Thanks again for popping by. I'll be home at the weekend and will catch up then.
