Spartan Horse

I have been trying to take a decent photo of this sculpture for months. It's not well placed, as generally the background is busy unless you stoop down. But then the sky hasn't been right, or there's been no light on the sculpture.

It all seemed to fall into place today.

The sculptor is David Meredith who is based in Leicester, but has several sculptures on loan around Trentham Gardens. 

It does remind me of art produced by the Spartans.
