The Hare Parade

Haslemere Hares is a community arts and fun project currently setting up in the town.  Local artists and schools are decorating 100+ fibreglass hares  which will be on display from May till September 2018. Some are already in place.  Although not the primary motive, the hares will be sold off for charity at the end of the season. Last years similar project, Haslemere Hogs, raised more than £3,500.

This one is #89 Space OddHAREty,  sponsored  by Coins Foundation*. You can see it outside Collingwood Batchellor in the High St. The artists are Steve Grigsby and Claire Cullen, and the supported charity is Stepping Stones School, a school started for children with mild learning disabilities and now grown to encompass any child struggling with mainstream education.

* COINS Foundation supports a wide range of social initiatives. They influence people to think differently about poverty, disability and injustice. They also look to influence others to start social enterprises and to commit equity from the outset into foundations and charities.
At the heart of COINS Foundation is a desire to see real and positive change in individual lives, communities and business.
