Stepping out…

North Parade Buildings, Bath

A gorgeous day in the mid 20s, so we decided to stay close to home and enjoy all that Bath has to offer on a sunny Summer’s day. M has visited Bath many times but I always manage to find something new to show him. We started our day by parking outside the city, and then walking along the River Avon into the city centre, enjoying the leafy shade and the peace and quiet of the riverside (I walked part of this path a couple of weeks ago but today we did the whole four miles). A postcard of our walk in extras.

Once in the centre of town we rejoined the crowds and found a seat outside the Abbey for a spot of people watching and to enjoy the street entertainment provided by some of Bath’s many buskers, then back to the river for a picnic lunch by Pulteney Weir. After lunch, time to hit the shops! I came home with nothing, but M had several bags full! We must have easily done another couple of miles trailing round town, so I think I deserved that enormous ice cream that you can see in my second extra postcard from Bath. A beautiful Summer’s day, with the sunshine bringing out the best of Bath, as well as all the tourists!

(Backblip – such a busy weekend, running low on time and energy. Sorry for lack of comments, blip catchup planned for tomorrow…)
