MonoMonday - Power

These massive concrete blocks which are more than a metre square (or cubed rather) are set in the woods above Tyninghame Beach. They were placed there during the last World War to stop Tank access. The beaches round here are very flat and would have made ideal landing places for possible enemy incursions. These powerful deterrents look somewhat incongruous set in the woodland but at the time of the war a lot of trees had been chopped down for the war effort and this would have been heathland. After the war the area was re-forested and the anti-tank munitions left in place.
