the dance

tonight was the 'feux de SaintJean' celebration when a flame is brought down from a nearby mountain (Canigou) and is used to light up bonfires in the surrounding towns and villages. I wandered down late tonight to see what was going on. The bonfire was lit by then and there were a few 'impromptu' dances going on. This lot were dancing a typical local dance (Sardana)  lit by the fire and its so slow that even at this shutter speed (0.5 sec) the shadows are still quite clear!
