‘Ware the Sheep

We’ve been fortunate this far with the midges, but I admit I’m rather bothered about the marauding sheep! This is the Kildalton church and the home of the High Cross you can see in the background. This is apparently about 1300 years old and the one of the best examples of early Christian Celtic crosses.

We rode out to see this on roads that were being top dressed at the time, and it was a little squirmy on the big girl. After, we turned 180° and retraced our route then continued to the American Monument that commemorates the loss of two ships in the final months of the First World War.

After that we parked the bikes up and walked to Laphroaig for a light tasting. Remarkably not all their whiskies taste like TCP! I may have needed a little nap then, and now the afternoon adventures continue...
