When Fergus went Swimming by Trench Point

(then again at Slaty Farlan ... and again by Trench Point)

24.3C with sunny sunshine al day long. Light ESE/WNW/SE/NW breeze.

Today it got genuinely hot!

After lunch Fergus and I went for a walk out to the old shipyard and wandered out the shore path to Slaty Farlan. It felt really hot. At the beginning of the shore path we went onto the pebbly/stony beach and I let Fergus off his lead to see if he wanted to paddle. He wandered straight into the sea and went for a swim. I am not sure if he wanted to go swimming or whether he didn't realise the depth but he swam about quite the thing before coming back out. Every time he goes into the water he gets more confident.

We wandered out to Slaty Farlan and I took his lead off again. Straight into the water and swam about while I had a sit down on a big rock. On the way back I gave him a last chance to cool down at the Trench Point spot and he had a splash about. I managed to avoid him shaking himself and getting water everywhere each time he came out. By the time we got home he was more or less dry and hopefully not too hot. He had his usual water and dental stick and went off for a snooze in the coolest room.
