Getting the sparkle back

Outside Waterston House

K, L and I went back to Waterston House to see a demonstration by Colin Woolf of painting using a pintail feather, which was something the Victorians sometimes did. It gave extremely fine detail, but modern brushes make it much easier. Not that I will be using either, it has to be said.

This pond is just outside the building and although the forecast had been for cloudy weather, it brightened up beautifully. We then went on to Dirleton where they were having their annual fete. I loved the animal vegetable sculptures and the extra photo is of the first prize winner in the under elevens.
