Dangling Raspberries

Friday was quite a day.

It was hot.  Very hot.  28°C at my desk again.  

And I was busy for the whole day.  From before I made my cup of tea.  Which should be illegal.

But it was fun.

I organised a meeting this afternoon where I could work with a guy from another team and make some progress on a topic that has just been dragging on for too long.  A 3 and a half hour meeting on a Friday afternoon.  And I'm not any kind of manager.

It was terrific.

Just the two of us and we rattled through problems.

All this led to an interesting discussion. 

My colleague's team is about to lose 5 people as they all retire this year.  They need replacements.  And the guy I was working with thinks that I would fit in quite well.

He quite liked this idea.  And mentioned it to every one of his team mates as they came in.  And then to his boss.

And they all liked the idea too.

I have no idea if anything will happen.  But it's good to know that my skills are appreciated.
