It’s All Temporary

Out for an early-ish walk around the polo field to see the setting up of temporary stables, etc for the Hunter-Jumper Classic starting next week. Glad I went before the heat and humidity peaked. It was a steamy scorcher after last night’s rainfall. Didn’t favor any of my shots there.

Then off to pick up some vittles when I spotted the flower boxes and roof weeds for a Flower Friday shot. This was a restaurant we never ate in.  Closed for good. It replaced the Raintree where we ate several times over the years with my father-in- law. All gone now.

Later in the day we stopped at the arboretum at the other end of South Chagrin Reservation. The arboretum which is no longer an arboretum the new sign said,  because the park service is letting it go wild again. Paths are grassing over and muliflora roses are choking out huge shrubs. Arboretums were established to preserve and educate. I guess that goal was temporary. We are disappointed.

On a lighter note, the newly hatched wrens are softly squeaking in the magnolia birdhouse. They’ll be with us for a little while.

Happy weekend!
