30 Days Wild - 29 - Turdus philomelos

I tend to think of autumn as a time for ripening fruit but the berries on the Bird's Cherry must be ripe in mid-summer. This week a blackbird has been gorging on them but today I saw a song thrush.

Thrushes used to be a common sight during my childhood but their numbers have been in decline. My path is no longer littered with broken snail shells.

With show season beginning, for us, next weekend it was time to do a stock-take of cards and make decisions about reprints and new additions.
