Belem

Another adventure today as we attempt yet again to take a tram. Partially successful this time as we boarded the tram for Belem. Unfortunately it stopped at a depot about half way between Lisbon and Belem. Luckily we spotted a bus that would take us the rest of the way.
The main highlight of Belem is the massive convent, which turned out to have massive queues also to gain admission to the convent. we decided we would limit ourselves to admiring the exterior of the convent, and the spectacular fountain in front of the building. We then walked along the sea front as far as the Tower of Belem. Near here we stopped for a drink, but by the time I was ready for lunch everywhere was full.
We were lucky in getting a tram back to Lisbon which which was not too busy. We had lunch at the same bar we stopped at on the day of our arrival.
