Carpe Diem

It was a case of ‘seize the day’ when His Lordship and I wakened to another haar free day, sunshine and blue skies. Out came the bicycles, the garish cycling jerseys and the helmets for a ride to our Sunday toast stop. It was hardly a stage of the Tour de France, but probably a lot more pleasurable.
Now having got the exercise out of the way, we are ensconced on the patio in the heat and with the Sunday papers. We are expecting HL’s daughter to join us very soon in the swelter (if that is a noun).
If the next few days remain like this, we will have had more use of the sunshade and suncream than in any of the other 8years since we moved to the Dower House.
