Conservation work

After a trip to the supermarket I headed off into the Thrift to do a bit of conservation work. The paths are gradually becoming overgrown with brambles and nettles so it was a case of cutting back and clearing away.

There are lots and lots of butterflies, mainly white, but there were a couple of frisky fritillaries, which is a good sign.

When I got home I found W and his dad had delivered a bottle of Normandy cider as a thank you for taking W under my wing. A very kind thought but I am more than happy to enjoy the company of an enthusiastic youngster and hopefully he’ll continue to come out on nature rambles with me.

This was taken when I was out with the conservationists this morning, and has been slightly faffed.
