Hanging Out

We were blessed with a sunny day, although the wind was brisk, presaging the winter to come. Good drying weather, you might say, and indeed that was true when our floor specialist, G, drove up mid-afternoon with his assistant A to check the moisture level of the leveling agent poured on October 30.

Watching G park his big work truck and trailer in our driveway is always a marvel to me (I consider backing up a car to be an unnatural act), so this time I documented it, while Phil took photos of the power tools that G and A temporarily installed in our garage.

The leveling agent had only 4% moisture, well below the 10% maximum permitted before the engineered bamboo flooring could be laid, so G and A went to work on the next step, putting down a moisture barrier over the leveling agent. When that was finished, they laid a few pieces of the flooring, giving us a hint of how beautiful it was going to be. They'll be back tomorrow morning, bright and early, and should be able to get the entire floor laid by the end of their workday.

I managed to cross a few things off my "to do" list today, and hope to do the same tomorrow, having an "office day" while the loud sounds of power sawing fill the house.
