Classic Transport

Another gorgeous day on the canals, we had a lovely cup of tea near the Froghall Tunnel where we encountered a classic Standard 10 and original Mini Cooper S promoting an upcoming hill climb in the area. Then it was back to the boat and we retraced our steps tracking the Churnet Valley railway. In an area described as the “Switzerland of Staffordshire”, it was indeed very green and beautiful.

The blip shows how close the two transport systems are with the railway platform built out over the canal to the right of the photo.

As the day came to a close, we did listen in to the extra time play and penalties in the football, none of us are that fussed about it but it’s difficult not to get a bit caught up in it!
