Another day where I couldn’t stir parents to do anything, and CarbBoy looked like he might die of boredom, so we got up and out to Kielder (huge forest park and reservoir) and hired bikes. When did handlebars get so wide? And do the seats really have to be that uncomfortable?

Anyway, it was great fun - and not too hot for most of the day (though not as bad as the shot above makes it look). A fortifying pub lunch at the half-way point helped!

Home for a very much needed shower, some work that slipped through the net yesterday, then off out to the pub for dinner. Great meal, but the realisation that next time I should insist on driving. And I have my explanation why my folks don’t go out much at night (not sure Mam’s eyesight is good enough to see how erratic Dad’s driving is getting). Sigh. Who’d be old, eh?
