MV Isle of Arran, Passing the Shipyard, 7.40am

16.4C with sunny sunshine all day long. Light W/WNW/WSW breeze.

This morning Fergus and I headed off out just after 7am and made it to the old shipyard in time to watch the ferry go past and then go out through the channel and set off across the sound to go round the South of Arran and head for Ardrossan. Ocean Dream was in the sound waiting to come into the loch to pick up the next batch of huge wind turbine parts that have been transported to the new quay in the last three nights. There is a further batch due over three nights next week.

The passenger ferry for Ballycastle sped off ahead of the CalMac boat as usual. Over at the NATO refuelling pier at Glenramskill A136 the replenishment vessel RFA Tidespring was being pushed into place by two tugs. A busy loch today ! On the way back along Low Askomill I noticed there was a seal lying out on a rock.

Fergus and I went for our usual walk after lunch. Cloudier today. We went round to the harbour, then went along by the park and Kilkerran road to Glenramskill House. Ocean Dream was at the new quay, and the Pilot boat was out of the water and on the new quay. There were two seals on some rocks just past the park.

We came back the same way then along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open).
