Douglas Wirkin ida Muddo

A fine warm day, but mostly cloudy, with the sun trying to get out.  A cloudy but calm evening.

I've been working on the museum desk all day, and it's been a really busy day.   There's been two cruise ships in Lerwick today, with about 3000 passengers.  A mad dash after tea, and headed to the pub for my early shift.  Walkies with Sammy, and nipped along big Brian and Madeline for a cuppa.  Feet up for the night now.

I had to nip down to mam's to check on the cat, he's doing good.  I spotted Douglas (Smith) o Anness busy working in the meadows, and getting the hay turned.  It's been a good years for drying the hay, but the lack of rain has produced a poorer crop.  The meadows are too soft for modern machinery, so traditional methods survive here.  Taken the Aith meadows, Cunningsburgh.
