Natural Play Area

When we were young our natural play areas were the local woods, commons and heathland. We made camps and climbed trees, played cricket and made up adventures. We stayed out all day and it was always sunny. Now children have a designated play area in the middle of Bookham Common. I believe it consists of piles of logs and wooden climbing frames. A lot of fun to be had, I'm sure, but not the same somehow.
I went on my own for a walk on the common. There were very few people about. Maybe they were all watching the RAF fly past which I totally forgot about.
