Gently down the stream

Field of dreams

Today was meant to be mostly cloudy.  In fact it was mostly gorgeous.  On my walk I discovered the whole east side of Whiteshute Ridge was on fire with rosebay willowherb (epilobium augustifolium).  This is just a small part of it.  The colour is SOOC..

And excuse me saying this, but it's a blipper thing; doesn't nature have an extraordinary way of transforming the way we see?  Snow, fields of flax flowers or poppies, pink, blue, orange, even green skies.  I was speechless when I saw this spread of rosy spikes, patterned like a forest of miniature pine trees and shimmering in a wonky kind of way against a ridiculously blue sky.

Heat stroke.  What it does to you, eh?

So my thanks to BobsBlips for the Widwed challenge, and to Cailleach for the WildWed challenge.  I have tagged it for both (if I'm allowed).

And talking of challenges, hearts will be awarded later tonight for WFW04, to:
AngelsShare's feast and famine
dfb24's beautiful chicory flowers
AH14's teasels at dawn
Freespiral's samphire (and scarlet pimpernel, They seek him here.. no, that's enough!)
and
Loisbiz's beautiful hillside

In addition, special mentions go to:
Alan_rodger
Lenah
HeART

Thank you to everyone who took part.  Once again the quality was superb and made choosing great fun and very difficult.

Enjoy your evening's all  xx
