Low tide

It was a very low tide for our walk this morning so we counted the sea stars in the 50 meter stretch that we have been monitoring since the sea star wasting disease killed them all several years ago.   There used to be hundreds here .....then none, ... today I counted 43...not exactly a big comeback altho they look healthy.    Have seen not one sun star however. There are less mussels too, for reasons unclear.  Sea Stars eat mussels so it would seem there would be more...
Also watched a heron in the low water in lots eel grass having some great meal.   But I wanted to make an abstract so here it is.    Having lots of trouble with the internet --not sure where the iCloud has disappeared to...    Oh well.... just another mystery
