A Fixer-Upper

Actually, it's past that now.

The local council have placed a compulsory purchase order on The Alva Glen Hotel this week, as the current owners don't appear to have the money and/or inclination to do anything about the pigeons and rats that are spilling out on to main street. Not a pretty sight and hasn't been for many years now.

Had a few good nights in the place, as well as a few harum-scarum nights, back in its heyday; at times, if you weren't from Alva the residents were a bit wary of visitors - it was very much a local pub, for local people...

It did serve as a cannabis farm for a while though, but now the weeds seem to be doing there best to reclaim it back to nature. Another local landmark soon to disappear.
