a sweetheart pillow...

...for a loved one

this is an antique pillow - pressed and framed - found in tiny antique shop, dating to the 1940's - it was originally intended for a sweetheart - serving in the armed forces, specifically the united states army - designed as a keepsake and prayer - for the loved one to be watched over with care - it's a touching saying and would - have special significance for anyone who - has given service to the country - although you can read the verse - in large, i am also including it here for convenience

sweetheart

i thought that you
would like to know
that someone's thoughts
go where you go.
that someone never
can forget
the hours we spent
since we first met,
that life is richer,
sweeter far,
for such a sweetheart
as you are,
and now my constant
prayer will be,
that god may keep
you safe for me.

i believe any sweetheart - who'd receive this message from a loved one - would feel valued and wrapped in a protective - shield while away doing battle - knowing they would be returning to a - love unequaled which would inevitably lead to...
