Friday 13th & National Fete Day etc

Lets just say it was after 1 a.m. when we finally slept after the noise of the National Fete celebration dance, concert and fireworks finished (must be getting old!) and we didn’t leave the aire until much later than usual in the morning, partly because we had short journey planned. Considerate driving allowed a police convoy to overtake us. They arrived a few minutes before us and just twelve miles from our destination they closed the road for 4 hours while the Tour de France passed our turning in a few seconds! We only needed to travel 150 yards and we would have been on our way. There were no diversion signs but we were told our best plan would be to return to our starting point and go by autoroute! We took loads of pictures of the crowds and the advertising vehicles and guess what? Just as the competitors arrived my battery exhausted and by the time I had changed it they had gone and we were on our way again. What to do with the freebies? Well blip them of course!
There is a concert here in Forges les Eaux tonight and a firework display near the campsite. Oh, and I hear there is an important football match tomorrow .. .. ..
Thank you for all your very kind comments and stars despite our complete lack of commenting. We will be back soon! (In more ways than one!)
