Looks Good To Me

Many Hands...

...making light work of spreading mulch at the volunteer work party in Marine Heritage Park this morning. It was a co-operative effort by the Bellingham Parks Department and Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association.

As you can see, it was another beautiful sunny day. What you can't see is the cold wind, which made the sunny areas a lot more appealing than the shade. The people doing the real work didn't seem to mind, and I was dressed for the cold. By noon, I was even getting too warm.

As I passed the salmon hatchery adjacent to the work site, I saw the hatchery employees tallying the numbers of male and female fish in the lower pond, before moving them up to the next level. Meanwhile, the fishers were lined up shoulder to shoulder trying to catch salmon in the creek.

It was a great day for getting back-lit photos, if you like using fill flash.
