Tenterden Town from signalbox balcony

The big camera had an outing today at Tenterden Town signal box where I was on a learning turn. Another gloriously sunny day but quite a demanding day as there was an operational issue at Bodiam that delayed trains all day and caused all sorts of issues resulting in the controlling signalman at Tenterden having to do much writing and ringing around.

The evening, was a little different too as the Terrier Trust, the group that owns and manages these magnificent little engines, had their AGM today which also entailed a ride behind one of their locomotives. Added to which the Pullman was also running so there was quite a bit of shunting around to do before the relieving signalman came on duty.

All good experience though. We both came away having put in a good day's work. Today's blip is almost the last action of the day, showing the station in the warm sunlight of early evening at the Terrier waits in the loop for the Members Special.

Great evening at home too, aperitifs, dinner and digestives all outside. It was almost 11.30pm when the chill of the night air forced us inside and it wasn't really cold - only 19c.
