Blue Dasher?

I'm not at all sure what kind of dragonfly this is. I'm hoping certain knowledgeable blippers will step in and tell me. I'm thinking it is perhaps a blue dasher. Maybe a young male? But really, I don't know. In any case, it was sallying out to hunt and then back to its perch over and over and thus granting me plenty of time to try to take photos of it. If I'd had a different lens on my camera I might have gotten closer. Or I might have frightened it off. A toss up, probably. It was up near our little frog pond.

I've been seeing a few more butterflies in recent days. A hopeful sign.
