Hickory Dickory

I shot this image fairly early this morning. The heat has been its most oppressive today, it's heavy and humid and I haven't felt like going out with the camera. I'm hoping for a storm to cool things down a bit.

At the start of the bug season dock shieldbugs are very visible everywhere, mating communally on the large fresh green dock leaves.  I tend to ignore them. This is a nymph on a dock seedhead. It's perfectly camouflaged. Sorry about the autumnal colours but there's a whiff of it in the air. :(
