Derelict Sunday???

Not really!  Just soaking wet!

We had such a wonderful day today ..... starting with the usual Sunday morning yummy breakfast cooked by Richard!

Between breakfast and lunch I spent time in the sunroom reading the newspaper and photographing more wildlife in the backyard ..... even with the rain!  We had some spectacular thunder and lightning storms throughout the morning! But that didn't deter the cardinals (this is a female), the Blue Jays or the squirrels! The two blue jay pictures are of the same bird .... the bottom left shows him/her with the peanut between his/her feet.  I was surprised when he/she grabbed a peanut and then only moved off slightly in order to open it!  They usually fly up into the trees to eat.

By the time lunch was past so was the rain .... and we decided to go south to the Lower Saucon Rail Trail instead of north to the Plainfield RT.

It was starting to really get hot by then but we still wanted to get in a walk.  The two fawns in the upper right picture were seen walking along the ridge on the rail trail.  We also saw three other deer .... which is a first for us at this trail!

After returning home I jumped in the pool and then later we finished the day with another scrumptious meal grilled by Richard and some TV watching!
