Backblipping this beautiful butterfly! We decided to go camping for a few days down in the Mt. Adams area, to a campground at Takhlakh Lake. So we packed up all the gear in the Jeep and got on the road. There were dozens of these beauties flitting about at the campground, however there were thousands of mosquitoes!

It's so disappointing (but I should not be surprised) to not truly enjoy the outdoors due to tiny, stinging/biting insects! They were not impressed by the Deep Woods Deet so the best defense was clothing from head to foot.

Even the smoke from the campfire did nothing to discourage them so we crawled into the tent and decided we'd probably not spend another night. I did get a nice walk around the lake (see the extra) and took some shots of Mt. Adams as the sun was setting. It's a special place.
