Outside

We took a shady walk at Cordata park this morning. I wrote in my book  (Mantra) that after years of dealing with the oddities of dementia, one gets over caring what other people think. That assertion gets tested every now and again. Today as we crossed the bridge and ran into two young women, my mom said to them, "You could stand on the bra and we could push you over!" After a brief pause my mom said, "Just kidding," and that seemed to explain everything to the girls who then smiled and laughed.

Back at Silverado I walked my mom to her room and she said, "Okay, you can go. I'll stay a while then go home later." That was a pretty good parting.
