Chinook

I was lucky enough to catch an RAF Chinook helicopter coming into land at the airport today.  The RAF variant of the Chinook is a twin rotor heavy lift helicopter used in the support of the British military.  The Chinook has undergone many upgrades since it first entered RAF service in December 1980 and it now boasts a digital flight control system.

The extra today has the Chinook flying past a United States Air Force C-17 and an Agusta Westland AW189 operated by Bristow for the United Kingdom Coastguard.
