Along These Lines

Today has been dull. The colour seems to have leached out of everything - sky, fields, even the trees are taking on the dusty look of late summer.

We had nothing planned, so there was no escaping a stint in the garden.  I half-filled a compost heap with flowered out perennials and the prunings of a couple of clematis.

Eventually cabin-fever set in and we went down to town and found ourselves in the Abbey. I was on the lookout for a shot for Wide-Angle Wednesday - today's theme is 'lines'.  Perversely, though there are plenty of verticals amongst the columns and arches, I chose  this shot of the stair in the Visitor Centre.  At least it was bright in there!
