Silver Washed Fritillary

This morning a trip out to chambers wood to search out a few Butterflies. A lovely sunny day so they was on the wing a lot and not really settling. I was rewarded with a new species to blip . This lovely Silver Washed Fritillary settled to allow a few shots. This is the largest of the fritillary species in the uk. A few other shots from the day can be seen HERE including a lovely but tatty Dragonfly and a grasshopper.
