Fuchsia

This was one of those plants you buy in the garden centre just to see how it will do. The flowers are just starting to come out, and I guess it will keep going for months now. The shade of reddish pink doesn't quite go with the other plants around it, but as it's in a pot that's not a problem. It's a welcome sight amidst the widening landscape of browned foliage and stressed plants. We're thinking about a major redesign and replant in the autumn. Quite a lot of the current planting scheme may well be scrapped in favour of drought tolerant plants. That'll guarantee a run of wet years...
