Watching

Today marked the end or an era for us, as we returned the cot we borrowed almost five years ago back to an old friend that we have not seen for almost as long.

On the way we visited Titchfield Haven for a walk. Boy has developed a bit of a cough and so had to be carried all the walk, whereas Girl was mostly happy to walk all day. It was a lovely day with bright skies and fresh air, even if we were on the quiet part of the nature reserve and so didn't see that much wildlife. We did get quite close to a domestic cat but I don't think that counts.

Just before leaving Girl and I had our obligatory arguement of the day culminating with her shouting at me outside a hide, ironically next to a "please be quiet outside the hides" sign. Shortly after this we left swiftly.

We then dropped off the cot and a couple of other baby lends, had a cup of tea, caught up on a bit of gossip, remarked on how fast life is and how we should keep in touch more. The usual stuff really.

For not the first time in the last few months I was reminded that when you catch up with an old friend there is never any awkwardness and you just natter like you used to, though now you have to get back home to put an ill Boy to bed. A big bed though, not a cot, as there are no babies here anymore.
