Double billing

Two first sightings for 2018 - and doubly exciting as both appeared in our garden within minutes of each other!

Top: Painted Lady (Cynthia cardui)
Bottom: Wall Brown (Lasiommata megera)

What a lovely way to start the week, despite our bit of the country being under a sticky-hot cloud, yet still without rain. Our globe thistles remain covered in bees of several varieties. Just lovely!
