Lunch date

On the hottest day of the year (so far!) we drove down the dreaded M25 into Kent to have lunch with friends Helen and David. I was at school with Helen and we have been friends ever since, even though we have seldom lived in the same country. They finally settled in South Africa. We have been to stay with them a few times, even taking grandson George in 2010 when he was only 9.
Their middle daughter Kathy, has settled in Tunbridge Wells and both her daughters have now joined her. Helen and David are now in England on a visit and it was our opportunity to see them. The four of us enjoyed a summer lunch in the garden, but after lunch we moved indoors where it was cooler.
It was good to spend the day with our old friends. They are soon back off to their lovely home overlooking the Indian Ocean near Durban, but they are coming back at Christmas!
