Sad river

The River Mole is getting very low, and it was reported in the press that its fish have been dying. My blip is the scene not far from Leatherhead Bridge where the river is usually deep and fast flowing. Now it is quite low, showing its bed in places.
In the long hot summer of 1976 the bed of The Mole dried up completely a couple of miles upstream from Leatherhead. I remember walking along the river bed with my children, picking up little treasures. The river hadn't in fact dried up completely but was flowing underneath the gravel bed, only to reappear further downstream. This is presumably why it is called The River Mole.
So hot today again, not conducive to doing anything at all. Am I going to be this unproductive for the whole of the summer?
